1 John 2:27: “But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” Sound familiar? If not it should, for that is how the 1st Amendment to the United States Constitution begins. And of course what the 1st Amendment to the Constitution has resulted in is a United States characterized by religious pluralism and religious tolerance. Unfortunately however it has also led some people to think that all religions are equally valid or equally true. In other words, to put it in a nutshell, religious pluralism has led to religious relativism, which is a concept that we as believers in Jesus Christ categorically reject.
