Genesis 3:6: “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.”
Gotcha! I doubt that he did but that is certainly what the devil could have exclaimed after Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit. After all in eating of the forbidden fruit Adam and Eve capitulated to the devil’s desires. They gave in to both sin and Satan resulting in some horrific consequences, the specifics of which we will see later on in this chapter. And here in this one verse we observe exactly how that happened. How sin was able to get a hold of the first couple and by extension how sin is able to get a hold of us as well. How it’s able to attach itself to us and bring us down.
